Anarcho-Syndicalist & RAAN Flags

For anybody who thinks it's really lame that AK Press sells anarcho-syndicalist flags for fuckin' 35 bucks (http://www.akpress.org/1997/items/anarchosynidicalistflag), DIY Distro Poisoned Candy Records and the Red & Anarchist Action Network (RAAN) have put together some (moderately) cheaper ones:

(From the website:) All flags are approx 5' x 3' in size and hand-sewn here at Poisoned Candy headquarters. There are a few variations to choose from. The cotton and nylon are the most typical of material used to make flags. The heavier duct cloth flags are more 'riot proof'. They are stronger and have grommets on the left side.

Heavy weight duct cloth $25.00

I have no problem paying that amount of money for a flag, quite honestly. I mean yeah its expensive but the money goes to people who can actually benefit from it as opposed to it going to some corporation you know?

People are all over the place with it. I just posted this to an anarchist community and the majority of replies have said that even this stuff is too expensive and people should be sewing their own.

Frankly I just don't think that's realistic for everyone, and neither is $35

It's not a big deal, you can just wrap cash (very thoroughly) in a piece of paper with "i want _______" written on it and mail it to the PO Box.

No doubt, I hope they would. I'm actually not much of a seamstress (except when it comes to fixing my own clothes) but I've painted a lot of banners in my day.

Svendsen (poisoned candy guy) just chose to go with the flags as his next project and I'm supporting him. I agree it should be much easier to just make one yourself, hence the last line in the original post.

Anarcho syndicalist flags eh? quite easy if you live in belgium or Germany, you just steal a national flag: black, yellow, red, cut it apart en sew it back together in the proper form :D

EDIT: If you don't live in one of those countries: try and sneak into the embassy or go to the Un or something like that. If you have different flag options, try to look for the ones with ropes running down: 5 seconds and you'll be holding the flag.

That is still very steep. I got my Anarchist flag off some SolFed mates for about £2, I would have made my own but I can't sow for buttons, lol. I tried and everything and it was just a waste of money.

I know $35 dollors from AKPress, they should sell the flag in a burgler suit. :ph34r:

One advantage to using plain red and plain black flags is that you can just take a piece of cloth, sew up the edges, sew up a pole loop, and voila!

But even the red-black anarcho-syndicalist flag isn't too hard. But then again, my mom helped me sew my two red&black flags, sooo...... :rolleyes:
