Communism is a stateless, classless, and moneyless society. Everybody who contributes to society will benefit from society.
There isn't any and has never been a communist country. Communism is supposed to be the next step after Capitalism, many so-called "communist" countries actually rose out of feudal countries.
Of course communism is good! See the hammer & sickle at the top of this page? We support communism :P.
America is a Capitalist nation.

Communism is our leftist Utopia where only through years of sacrifices and worshipping will our collective in the sky be acheivable.
:P
Communism is a stateless, classless society organized along minimalist democratic majoritarian lines with complete volunteer production and decentralized gift distribution.
In terms of "parties", see this (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=49775) and this (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=6421) thread.
A number of elementary communist questions are also addressed in this thread (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=48269). And I would also advise that you browse through the RevLeft Dictionary (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=25786).

A Leftist is a flower of Leftism which is a (somewhat inaccurate) description for any ideology that leans toward 'the public good' rather than 'for the good of the elite'
People use the terms "left wing" and "right wing" as a sort of slang-ish way of quickly describing somethings/someones politics "Hitler was really right wing" or "The CNT was really left wing"
Most communists consider themselves left wing, but in reality Left and Right are terms for the state of government so Communism (arguably) is neither left nor right, as it would be leaderless.

Its nothing to do with birds and aircraft :P
Historically, as far as I know, the terms left wing and right wing refer to the times of monarchy rule (kings, Queens Princesses etc.).
Where the king had a right hand man and a left hand man. The right hand man being the kings closest and more loyal comrade.
Left wing = progressive (push forth)
Right wing = Conservative (remain or retrogress)
