anti-war conference
Uni of Wollongong - Friday May 19
an opportunity for anti-war activists to not only discuss the current political climate regarding the occupation of Iraq, Bush's war on the world, Iran, the racist tactics of the Howard government, attacks on civil liberties, the future of the anti-war movement, but to also plan future actions against the war and racism.
the general timetable so far:
11am-12:30pm
Bush's War on the World and Howard's War on Australia
Iraq & Iran, US imperialism & the ‘war on terror’, attacks on our civil liberties and the racist scapegoating of Muslims.
12:30-1:30
Lunch provided by Food not Bombs
1:30-3pm
Workshops -
Uranium mining and nuclear weapons
Palestine: Eyewitness reportback

3:30-5pm
The Global Fightback
Lessons from the US anti-war movement & global struggles, including discussion around future actions this year and the anti-Bush campaign in the lead-up to APEC 2007.
Evening: come to the pub!
Trains to North Wollongong station leave from Central at 9:08am.
Shuttle busses leave from the station to the University at regular intervals.
Billeting can also be arranged if needed.
