I've been wondering this for a while and it's never occurred to me to just ask; what's the difference between bolsheviks and mensheviks?

The Mensheviks wanted to engage in creating a mass party rather then a smaller party of 'professional revolutionaries’. Also they thought that Russia must develop capitalism before they could develop socialism. So the right-wing of the Mensheviks actively fought alongside the whites.
