View Full Version : Can revolution be possible now?

I wonder; as Marx said (or Lenin, correct if wrong), when the revolution is ready, the vanguard will consist of "but a few thousand men and women".
My question is, with free 'education', is it possible to overcome the brainwashing of people from the age of five, to persuade them that we communists aren't all Stalin, Pol Pot or Kim Jong Il?
What's more is the state is too strong, I believe. If 1918 was now, the Whites woould win no matter how inspiring the great Trotsky was due to Europe and America's input. The Reds only won because the foreign support dried up.
Also, assuming Britain or America's dockers strike, the Powers that be would tell them "If you want your revolution, be prepared for Stalin"
Our only beacon is a diversely spread website from all over the world. If we are divided, we can only try and spread.
I personally think that the North of England should partition itself and become its own Socialist republic, bearing in mind all southerners do is rob us of our labour and sell it in London. And if I'm wrong, then in time, the South can realign itself. Permanent revolution has to start in one country. Remember, in 1917, Russia were loners. Within 40 years, more than 1/2 the world was communist.

states are indeed stronger when dealing with a foreign threat and as such i consider WMD's vital to survival of a communist nation.
but like we all saw with 9/11 the world has become a paradise for those that can hide in the masses.
its impossible for them to find us if we keep a low profile and keep our identity to ourselfes.
we can talk nicely here aswell because we are just a bunch of loony communists we dont have rpg's under our beds and a gun under our pillow ;)
and since we are obviously harmless they cant do much besides getting an ID on us and keeping logs on our posts looking for hidden messages
(its time to take the dog out of the microwave before he starts wearing blue sunglasses)
the blackmarkets are easily accesible weapons and munitions are available at the usual established criminals like bikergangs.
capitalism is making things increasingly easy for us as time goes by and poeple become greedy.

But how can we afford the weaponry except guns (I heard it's around £60-70 for an AK-47)
We all need to meet up and discuss tactics.
We must act as the moon to counteract the sun.
can you believe it's £11 for a copy of "The Revolution Betrayed."
We must give out copies of this, if we can print it cheaply. I got a load of SWP propaganda and must of left it in the toilet. Then I thought, if somebody picks it up and reads, they may turn to us, so ergo, we must leave Trotskyist propaganda in toilets.
That or all stand as independent MP's who, whoever elected will become a new party. We need to create a valuable leftwing party in times where people are likely to vote Fascist. Once we gain in popularity, probably mostly in the north, we must initiate revolution.
Would socialist cities rather than countries work?

in the movie The Battle for Algeirs the movement only works because they dont know eachother. All a revolution takes is a spark. We are sitting on a great big fucking powder keg. And being a former member of a punk ass little street gang you would be amazed and (for those of you with children, disgusted) to know how easy it is to find weapons. Shit our friendly neighborhood walmarts can help us out with that

In my opinion the revolution will be as part of an inescapable economic down-turn in capitalism. Therefore as things start to bite people will need less and less convincing that its time to take action. Global capitalism is an incorrigible bastard. It is ultimately incapable of taking the action needed to save itself. I believe it will go with a whimper. I think that when it goes it will be weak, and unable to hold back change.
There will be a revolution, that in my mind is 100% true. But I think it may be easier than we think in the end. Have you ever tried to kill ants with a sledge-hammer. That is what will face those that resist the change. As for a socialist republic in Newcastle, the revolution will break down borders, not put them up.
No.
We do not have the political base yet, we do not have the revolutionary conscience in the heart of the people yet, we do not have a signifigant issue confronting us that will threaten the people into action yet.
Key word yet =P. Then again one of my good friends and collegue was putting emphasis on the 'Immigration reform' issue, and how this could easily turn into a full-blown class war given the right proding by the religous wrong.

I belive revolution can happend but not now.First we need to start the revolution of the communist idea it self.We need to make a new communist which is more open then, when we have a strong base,we can start the revolution.

I agree with NewCommunist. We arent ready yet because we dont have anywhere near the majority and as much as we like to think the prolitariat is with us, there is still a lot of work to even reach them, much less convince them to to fight. How will we do this? Creating a form of communism specifically taloired to today. As much as we all like to discuss the original ideologies, methods, and schools, there is a lot of work to be done to reach the new people. The real people of today. (I apologize that this isnt as eloquent and informed as other members of this forum. My posts are just the opinions of an anxious soldier rather than a well studied, well-read brain.
