"Is it possible for a hundred people to beat a thousand other people? Yes, it is. When the hudred people is organized."

Any comments?

Without historical specificity, his remark is just a meaningless banality.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it ain't.

Mnemonic phrases are just as useless when they come out of Lenin's mouth as when they come out of the mouth of some new age self-help guru. Don't even bother.

As a bit of support, see: The Battle of Thermopylae.

That was some hardcore stuff.

Possibly.

It depends just how dimwitted and unorganized the thousand people are. If they were stupid and inept enough, relative to their opponents, their numerical advantage could be rendered useless.

So, if someone like Lenin organized a hundred people, and the opponents were anarcho-lifestylist horizontal (i.e ready to be fucked) types, then victory for the hundred would be a probability.

Compare the activity of a 100 local leninist's to that of 10,000 local registered democrat's.

Orginization, not number's, is key.

obviously it is possible. Hannibal did it. Lenin did it. Che did it. George Washington did it. etc...
Howeverthis doesn't mean it's easy.

According to Sun Tzu it's possible when 5 things are taken into account.
(1) The Moral Law - causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger; (2) Heaven- signifies night and day, cold and heat, times and seasons ; (3) Earth - comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death.; (4) The Commander - stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerely, benevolence, courage and strictness.; (5) Method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance of roads by which supplies may reach the army, and the control of military expenditu re. (Sun Tzu the Art of War) All of which is encompassed in the word organized.

This particular quote from Lenin is a maxim of the working people. Time and again, the working class has proven that through unity and organization they can overcome oppressors. The quote is not the basis of Leninist organization but rather a simple expression of it.

Definitely this comment of Lenin is true, in some (if not most of the) time.

Actually, the actual quote is this, "can the power of a hundred be greater than the power of a thousand? It can. And it does, when the hundred is organized."

And it's true.

It would be the most gracious moment if the workers, in all their numbers, have participated in the revolution. However, even if not all of them participated, a significant number of them would be enough to overthrow the bourgeoisie. That is, if they are organized.

Wasn't it that the bourgeoisie is far lesser in number than the working class, from the past and until now? But they rule over the workers now. that is because they are organized

The working class also did prove, time and again, that even if they were inferior in arms, but if they are organized, they can win victories.

Is this quote by Lenin untrue? I guess not.

By the way, why is this moved to the history section? Damn, don't be too arrogant and play God here. This is supposed to be a discussion on organization, a theoretical discussion. Please, whoever moved it here, please move it back to the theory section.
