i have just been reading about how U.N. weapon inspector requests to return to work in Iraq has fallen on deaf, american, ears.
Why could this be?????
I have no doubt they will eventually find weapons in Iraq, but i will not be so certain they were there before

I think that this one topic, might be the ultimate undoing of US international relations.

If they never find any in Iraq all they can do is say Syria has them. This is a pretty poor excuse and considering the US at the UN said "Look at all our miles and miles of proof that Iraq has WMD." They should have been able to find them pretty quick. If they can not it means one of the following.

1. The US and UK lied about their information.
(Which they already did, since much of it was plagurized to begin with)

2. Iraq had no WMD and that the infractions against UN resolution was small missles that went outside the designated range by a few miles (In Missle Terms).

3. Iraq moved them to another country, which really only works to carry the war over to another location and to occupy another country.

4. If they find any at all this late into the occuptation, a very good majority of the world is going to believe the US planted it there. Most people, including the Russian PM, think that if US wasn't lying to the UN they could have easily found them by this point.

It would be in the US's and UKs best intrest to not find anything at this point and suffer the blow of being war maniacs vs. being war maniacs that plant evidence.

In fact if I was at the head of the operation in Iraq at this point and my people found WMD, I would hide the fact that we found them.
