What is it that anarchism thinks is untenable about class consciousness? I am right about that aren't I?
Cheers

I'm not sure which branch of anarchism you're refering to, but anarchocommunists and anarchosyndicalists (who make up the bulk of the anarchists on this board) have absolutely no problem with class consciousness.
Indeed, recognizing the importance of class and class organization was recently made a requirement for membership in the CC -- this forum's administrative body.

No, you're not.
I would advise that you do some research on the history and theory of Marxist-influence Anarchist movements. Class consciousness has always been fundamental.

A good introduction I have read is Daniel Guerin's Anarchism: From Theory to Practice
Also see the Marxist Internet Archives' Anarchist section (http://marxists.org/subject/anarchism/index.htm)
While we're on the topic...I'm rather isolated from large groups of radicals: Would you all think that class struggle anarchists make up the majority of the movement?

They just do, almost all anarchists are class struggle. The few anti-organisationalists are marginalised.

So, you would say that anti-organization "networks" like say theorie communiste (I think) are not class struggle.
The antoi-organization "networks" I hear about are quite explicitly revolutionary communist. Could you expand? Cheers, hoopla

the problem with the anarchist platform is that it lets anybody in, capitalists, petty- capitalists what have you, its only when members take initiative to put different clauses into their groups. of all the anarchist "groups" ive never seen a proletaire only stance, which is part of the reason why its full of petty-bourgeois biases. dont get me wrong, there are a lot of anarchists i enjoy debating with, and many of whom i call comrade. yet class consciousness, in talking about the core of anarchism, is not there

A network can still be class-struggle even though its not a vertically structured organization. It just depends on the particular network's principles.
