Ron Burkle was raised in Claremont, a quiet town in suburban San Bernardino County. His father was an executive at the Stater Bros. supermarket chain and Burkle, armed with nothing more than a high school diploma, started at the stores as a bag boy...
Have a father who's an executive and can get you a job with his company.
Burkle worked his way up through the ranks until, as a senior executive, he tried to lead a leveraged buyout of the chain. He failed and was fired in 1986.
Bagboy up to senior management? Dad helped a lot with that one. ;)
But...he won the support of the group that had offered financing for the attempted buyout, including Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, and other financiers in the company's circle. Burkle eventually became a close friend and affiliate of Michael Milken and with his help assembled a California supermarket empire.
Make rich friends! Do that before they go to prison.
In business, timing is everything. :D
He eventually sold the chains, including Alpha Beta, Ralphs and Food 4 Less, to Kroger for nearly $13 billion in 1999. Previously, he bought Chicago's Dominick's chain and sold it to Safeway for $1.2 billion, earning himself and his investors enormous returns.
Done!
See how "easy" it is!

And yet the hungry still starve, and the sufferers of AIDs do not have their aid.
Greedy people like this guy choose not to see the other side. They choose to live in their mansions, gorging on food.
Should the restricted members even bother to defend them?

THat's EXACTLY how the last head manager of where I worked got his job. When his dad left, he had a stipulation inserted into his son's contract that he cannot be fired for any reason what so ever.

welcome to corporate america. dyanasties are what make the economy go round, until you get to the disinterested son who drives the buisiness into the ground, screwes over his employees, but still is worth 32 billion.

Curing aids and any virus/bacterial infection is a cinch with shivambu. Nothing to do with capitalism. The only outside help those Africans really need is help to get outside out of africa. Libertarianism can provide this freedom.

And go where? To the United States where people will constantly complain about black immigrants?
How about instead of raping Africa, the imperialists leave it alone. ;)
Or at least use fair business practices. None of this nestle shit.

What's sick? Warren Buffett is the God of investing and you think its sick? Can you make 20% per annum for 40 years strait? It take finess and style - something you chamberpots lack in abundance.

Dynasties are what bring glory to the United Soviets of America. Without them there would be no one to lobby for lower taxes, hence we would have tyranny. Do you want tyranny? :o
And what's the deal with the disinterested son driving a business into the ground and still being worth 32 billion? You jealous? Well listen mister commie, you don't need 32 billion to be successful. One billion is enough.

Except for maybee Nestle and Cadbury, no one is raping Africa. Investors don't want to touch that crap. BTW, NEstle and Cadbury use subcontracted labor, hence rely on AFRICAN companies to provide labor. Do you want Big business to pull out? Who will provide employment for the slaves then? Santa Klaus? Uncle Ho?
Africa will return to the jungle from whence it came without foreign investment.
Anyway, under libertarianism there is little socialism so theoretically people should be able to travel to any country they like without passports or any of that police state 'your-papers-are-not-in-order' crap. So what's wrong with that?

China's doing that by being nicer than the western imperialists. Of course that's only because China have their own interest in edging out the older imperialist powers by being the "nice" guy.
Africa and China (http://www.workers.org/2006/editorials/africa-china-0511/)
China is even transferring over technologies to African countries as part of the deal which is a good thing. :)

So now a continent full of PEOPLE who have the same fundamental needs and wants as you is CRAP? Racist.
I can see why you're restricted.

Wow, where to begin... :D
Well, I could outline how your support for capitalist oppression is despicable or how your simplistic "analysis" of the African economc crisis is bordering on the racist.
But how about instead I just highlight the fact that not only do you claim to have a "cure" for AIDS, but that that "cure" is drinking one's own urine.
Oops, is that your credibility I hear collapsing?

Well, let's see; War torn countries ? check
Famine, disease, drought ? check
People obstinately living in really silly places ? check
Governments that aren't fit to rule ? check
Genocide and the odd mass murder ? check
Pandemic AIDS crisis ? check
There really aren't a lot of nice things to say about the majority of the African nations. "Crap" is probably the least eloquent description, but it's not racist at all.

Let's take a look at the US:
Rampant stupidity among the rich: Check.
Famine, disease, drought: Check. You just don't pay attention.
People obstinately doing really stupid things: Check.
Governments that aren't fit to rule (can be shortened to just "Governments"): Check.
Discrimination, Nazism: Check.
Pandemic ignorance crisis: Check.
Nice checklist, eh?
