I've recently gotten really interested in photography. I used to be a casual digital photographer, but have switched over to using film (old school).
I just bought an Holga camera. The film it uses is rare and is hard to get developed. I have heard that it's easy to develop your own B&W film, so I'm thinking about doing that. Any tips for someone starting there own darkroom?
Anyways, anyone else interested in going back to film?

ive been doing b&w film for about a year now.
if your starting your own dark room, your gonna need some cash.
youll need liquids, film canisters/rolls, films, safe lights, trays, etc.
also just play around with some cool effects in dark rooms, like using flashes while you develop, using filters, adding stuff onto the paper, it can turn out pretty nifty.
anyways have fun

How much do you think it will take to get started? I was thinking around $200.

It depends if you buy used stuff etc. Heres a list of what you need
Film Canisters (for developing film)
Film Rolls (For developing film)
Various Liquids (Stop Bath, Film Developer, Photo-Flo etc.)
A Light thingamajiger machine (can be costly, if you dont find used)
Safe lights
A light-proof room
Film Paper
Youll need all those, so look around and see what kinda deals you can get

One word: eBay.
Everyone is getting rid of their old school gear and switching to digital, and a lot of stuff ends up on eBay.
I'm also trying to get into darkroom stuff but at the moment I don't have enough space.

Can i have your old digi-camera?
I'm saving up to do the exact opposite! I've been using film for a while now but it's just too expensive :( I take a lot photos of street art wherever i'm living and of demos/actions etc., it's enough that id' be saving money if i bought a digi-camera because there's no developing costs or film to buy. I would like to get into dark-room stuff though... Do you go to school? Some high-schools have dark-rooms, if yours doesnt you could always try and get some investment from the school. And if you're at some kind of tertiary institution and can get into a photography course you'd probably be able to use the institutions' facilities.
