Repost this anywhere you can ( blogs, forums, etc, where it will reach a number of people, be sure to reupload the image instead of hotlinking)

I'd like everyone to participate, as a social experiment. See how you feel after just ONE week, beginning this Wednesday.

Isn't there something wrong with the world when we wonder what's happening to fictional characters throughout the week? Isn't it wrong when a Sunday night cartoon on Fox is important in our life? Isn't it wrong when there are so many experiences to be had, but we just can't be bothered with real life because we're sitting zoned out in front of the tube? Isn't it wrong when we're away from our techno-universe and we begin to panic? The next generation won't even know the joy of building mud pies and creating cities of legos or playing telephone with a papercup and a string if we don't do something about it NOW. We let things slide, we procrastinate, we just sit there zombified in front of this little box, watching the little world within, while the real world and our real lives go ignored. TURN IT OFF FOR JUST ONE WEEK! And pass this on to your friends and definitely to your children! Get your coworkers and your classmates involved as well!!!

Go swimming, go camping, have lunch with an old friend or write a letter to your grandmother. Just LIVE and stop procrastinating, and remember the scent of flowers and what it's like to feel your toes in the summer lawn.

nice revolutionary act for the first post!
But unfortunately I can't agree with you about the news channels. beside all other ways of getting information, TV channels are still the best way to know how the war between masses and capitalism is going on all over the world. just consider the cases of France or Nepal or...

There is this new invention called the "internet," perhaps you have heard of it? It is a good way to obtain news information.

really?! I've heard something but I unfortunately din't access to it, but they say it's interesting.
Of course It is a good way to obtain news information, TOO. It can't take the noble place of T.V. News channels are horribly showing us the real world, so what's your problem with that?

There was a time in America when EVERYONE got their news from Walter Cronkite. When he said he didn't know why were in Vietnam, LBJ new he had lost American support and didn't run for reelection. He told us Apollo missions were important, and so to us they were. You could go to ABC for a more conservative view, or NBC for whatever, but you get the idea.

Today, the internet, AND BROADCAST ON THE INTERNET, allow the consumer to go only to those places which reenforce his/her view. This site is an example. You could live off of Rev Left for all your political world news, it's pinned, etc. Those who come here have their views of leftist politics reenforced. Those who visit some rightwing blog, same.

The internet's changed EVERYTHING, because, for the first time, you can walk into a room and speak to only those people with like views.

And it will only become moreso.

Wonder what will happen?
