Leaving aside your revisionist history, your distinctions matter fuck all. They did attempt to stop people from escaping.

Not to mention the thousands of refugees who fled to the republic when loyalists and the ruc burnt them out of their homes, which was a bigger migration than those fleeing East Germany.

What pisses me off is that the part of Ireland still occupied by England is the only place where 16th century style religious hatred still exists. In the rest of Ireland, no one cares what your religion is and its already more multicultural.

Portray Irish republicans as bigots all you want. The fact is that they lead the way in defending minorities and immigrants, even Gerry Adams has actively supported asylum cases. The IRSP works in immigrant labour solidarity as well.

Yeah, they have elections there, otherwise known as meaningless sectarian headcounts. Btw, even Vietnam had elections ... it means fuck all. The executive, even if it is ever reformed (though I doubt it will be due to the DUP) wouldn&#39;t even have the power to set basic budget priorities.
