Ok, I have a feeling htis is most likely addressed some hwere else on revleft but I have a question about socalism and communism.

The way it was explained to me was socalism is communism with more capitalism and more "democracy" (Not sure how you can have more of both but sure) is this correct, and if not what is the major difference between communism and socalism?

Socialism is the transition stage to communism, the dictatorship of the proletariat. Unlike communism, there is still a state, but it is controlled by the workers and is truly democratic. Eventually, socialism evolves into communism, a society which is both classless and stateless.

There have indeed been similar threads, and I'd recommend you check out this one (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=47978) for more information as well as use the search feature to find others if the difference between socialism and communism remains unclear.

What's confusing is that you are taught USSR, China and North Korea are all communist. Which is nonsense. Just the other day my History teacher said China was communist, lol.

Dont let that word put you off, it merely means what class has power over the other class.

For example capitalism could be called dictatorship of the bourgeoise.
