The Network of European Technocrats is not only a new organisation, but a new kind of organisation. Most kind of social movements have a static goal, and aims for a huge number of passive followers who should do simple things, like prenumerating on the movement's newspaper, paying their membership fee, or occasionally move on to a manifestation.
NET does not aim to become a political party, a worker's union or a one-issue organisation like Greenpeace. NET aims to become a full-fledged research network, and our goal is to change the world. Our goal is the establishment of a new civilisation, the European technate, a civilisation which coexists with the biosphere instead of exploiting it. A civilisation where all monotone, simple, boring work is made by machines and humans are free to live as they will, and would be able to realise their inner potential.
NET was formed in 2005 out of a group of dedicated spirit-souls who believe that Europe is finally ready for a technocratic movement and for an energy survey. The energy survey will determine the function and system of the European technate, and how we should build a sustainable community.
To achieve this, we would need more supporters, and not only followers, but people who are willing to learn and dedicate an amount of their time to research projects. Since our members are scattered all across Europe, we would need strong followers who are willing to take the initiative locally.
NET should organise itself in project groups [holons]. A project group is a local entity, composed of 5-20 individuals who works with several projects, related to the energy survey, the peak oil phenomena, environmental issues or social projects. A project could also be to make the public in the local area aware of the technocratic design and formate discussion groups around it. Every project group is responsible for writing a project plan, with a pretext, formulated goals, methodology, and rate of successfulness should be evaluated.
To become a NET member, you must be 16 years old. You do not need to be a European citizen in order to become a member. The membership fee is 16€.
NET would need all support it can, from everyone. Soon, our website will be made public, and we would be ready to begin our research. So please join our discussion forum at http://spazz.mine.nu/forum4
