UK GDP

Does anyone know of a source where I can find out the UK's GDP in earlier years? For example; I wish to find out the comparison between the UK's wealth in the 1940's compared to today. I wish to make a statement along the lines of "we are five times richer today than we were when the NHS was created" but I cannot find sources to help.

A parliament paper (http://www.parliament.uk/commons/lib/research/rp99/rp99-111.pdf) on the GDP from 1920,'30,'40,'50, to the present. That's all I could find :(
