Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song

I saw about 2/3's of BAADASSSSS! yesterday which is a biopic made by Melvin Van Peeples' son, Mario, based around the filming of the film, has anyone seen the original? Is it any good? In the 2004 biopic, Mario Van Peebles playing his father, states that the story is meant to be about a 'street hustler turned revolutionary', and in BAADASSSSS! members of the Black Panther Party come in to support the film, so does anyone have any thoughts on the movie?

I've seen the same biopic about 2/3's of it...lol. all I can say is it sounds interesting and I’d like to see the original film.
