The new CHE movie is now officially called "Guerrilla"
It will be released in January of 2007.

The portrait was painted by Miguel Rincon Rincon A leader of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement Imprisoned in Callao Naval Base, Peru

I thought that it was coming out late this year but it seems that it was delayed 'cause Soderbergh decided to do Oceans 13 first.

I know. He's a pretty good actor but I'm frustrated as he looks more like a drug addict than a Che. I thought Gael did a pretty good job in the Motorcycle Diaries. I'll watch the movie anyway, heh.

Well, we've agreed that Benicio looks more rugged than Gael and that this would be better since the movie is supposed to take place almost 10 years after the Motorcycle Diaries.

But it does seem quite strange as I have learned that Gael can speak English.

It's the power of movie magic, they could have made Gael look 10 years older. He looks just like Che in his younger years. Add kind of a 5 o clock shadow and the hair, and some of that movie magic, and he would have been perfect. Also I don't know why they didn't make this movie spanish with english subtitles. It kind of takes away from the realism.
