View Full Version : 42% Support War on Syria
Blasphemy

A poll conducted by the Washing Post reveals that 42% of the American public supports war on Syria if Donald Rumsfeld's accusations that Syria is aiding Iraq will turn up to be true. Moreover, 50% of the American public supports war on Iran, if the latter does not stop its attempts to develop nuclear weapons.
unfortunately, the American public is slowly succumbing to Bush's meretricious propaganda. Bush aspires to create a uni-polar world which will be completely under American domination. for now, Powel says that there is no intention whatsoever of attacking any of the aforementioned countries, but i will not be surprised if they do start another war after Iraq.

I can't understand why these dumb americans do have an opinion at all!No american knows where syria is, how syrian politics are etc. etc..
its the same with Irak. Recently I saw a report about america. They asked a woman, who was sitting in a cafe named "Bagdad" if she was for an attack on Irak. She said yes, and then they asked her what is the Iraki capital. The answer. teheran!!!
I have faith in the new president of syria, and I have very much faith in khatami. I think both can democratize their countries by themselves.

Mexican, he's being sarcastic. Anyways. The polls are stupid. They aren't true. I know this because I most certainly wasn't polled; and no one I know was polled.

I agree completely with drake. I am an american citizen however I have not been polled. For all we know they could have polled all the republican senators and released this information as the view of the american people. Unless they poll a large range of people or even entire united states I will always be skeptical about these polls.

Which particular country will be the next target is arguable. That there will be one is certain.
And a solid majority of Americans will "support their troops" and "approve their president."
I keep repeating this and maybe eventually it will penetrate: This is the Fourth Reich!
Get used to it!

I'm sorry but if you're talking about Bachar, i'm not sure i'll agree. He's the same kind of shit his late father and former head of state, Hafez, was.
Fuck Syria, it lives off Lebanon's back like a true parasite. Its dream is to 'invade' us much like Iraq wanted Kuwait, and I think that dream is slowly being realised, ever since the 'civil' war broke out in Lebanon.
Democracy? Blah, it allows no opposition, no freedom of speech, and human rights are spit at by the Syrian government. Do you know how Bachar came to power anyway? Not by democratic means to say the least!!
He's the same kind Saddam is, take that from whatever angle you want.
ps: out of curiosity, where do u come from, Deimos.

Yes of course! Those Mid-East dudes! We must bomb them so we can free them and give them eternal happiness! Those morons don't know what they do! We must give them the best gouvernment out there, The American Style! America is the nation of justice. It actually liberates those in need by bombing them. How nice of them.
I am sure Iraq will be thankful for America for freeing them from the clutches of evil Saddam, because Bush makes a better leader. Woo! God bless America! We fight for freedom! Love and Peace! Burn the childrens! They are evil! And they must be killed before they stick strap dynamites on their chest and kill our brave American soldiers!
Enough stupidity...
Did you know that polls are all biased, and ask to only one sort of people? Screw the medias, they are a bunch of lying bastards.
PS: How about War on Russia? I am sure America can EASILY take them, they are a threat too. I am 100% for the war on Russia. And yes, I know Mother Russia can blow up the world more than once, but thats not the problem. THEY MUST BE DISARMED!!!11 OMG! America must stand as the one dominating country in this friggin' world! Don't you people get it? America must own us!

polls are off. they don't represent the people. there was a poll in time. they polled 1,017 (or something of the like) people. now, i ask you this, where were these people from? they could've gone to some hickville in texas where people affectionately call bush their little shrub, etc.
anywho, polling is all a bunch of sass. the americans aren't represented. and mark my words, the ratio of americans who are pro-war and the rest of the world who isn't is a mightily contrasting ratio.
i used to live in brazil. i've interned in france. noone is pro-war. britain's prime minister really misrepresents "his" population. but you all knew that. in fact, you know all of this, you beautiful things, you.

Be weary of polls. They are little more than propaganda tools. The questions are phrased in the right way, so as the get the "right" answer from most people.

I am sorry if you took my comment seriously. I thought it was blatantly sarcastic.
I think most probably the next target would be Iran. You know, it represents a more credible threat to US and Israeli interests in the Middle East than Seria. Ariel Sharon himself is more worried about Iran than Syria.
Furthermore, being an Islamic country it's a hell lot easier to play the whole terrorism card and inflame those anti-muslim sentiments within the general US electorate.

I mean ever since the 'civil' war, there has been useless Syrian military occupation in Lebanon, corrupted politics and installation of a puppet government, there is more than 200'000 illegal syrian workers in the country that work for incredible cheap rates and who are allowed to vote, the extremist Hezbollah party in the South of Lebanon protected and supported by Syria and Iran, repression against whoever talks against them or any rebellion group etc etc....
Lebanon was deemed the Paris of the middle East, before the 15yo war and the Syrian and Israeli occupations happened, before all Hell broke loose.
It all went downhill ever since.

let me explain to you why lebanon looks the way it looks .
lebanon was supposed to be a christian maronite country , but there problem is that it was to small , so they took more land . what happened was that the lands they took from the french were ocupied by muslims . and as we know it , muslims fuck like rabits , so in 1946 the christians were only 51% . and then the palestenians came, so lebanon became less maronite .
in the 60ies lebanon bacame a state that doesnt control it's own people , the palestenians in the south made a huge autonomy , that was called "fatahland" , from there they had no problem atcking Israel , that fucked the lebanese , and the lebanese goverment . the maronites were afraid that the muslims will control there country , so there were maronite miltias , the bigest was The "Kataeb" , controled by the Jumayel family , friends of the Israely mossad , and they are realy the ones who comited the "sabra and shatila" masacre .
in the 70ies a civil war broke , and in 76 syria ( that had always seen lebanon as a part of great syria) invaded lebanon inorder "to bring Peace" . first they were with the maronites because they were willing to sign a peace agreement , but one year latter the joined the palestenians against the maronites . and when the maronites were in real danger israel interfered by droping to syrian helecopters . there was a red line in south lebanon that the israelies toled the syrian not to enter , so between this red line and the israely border hell broke loose , the syrians werent their nor the lebanese govermet . so the terorists could atack israel freely . so in 1978 israel invaded lebanon in "operation litany" , and came back home . after this operation a new lebanese souther christian militia was formed , by saed hadad a major in the lebanese army , the miltia was later named SLA , south lbanon army . they were against the palesteian activities in southern lebanon .
Israel invaded lebanon again in 1982 in operation "peace for galilee" , made araffat leave for tunisia , and staid in a security area of 20 km in southern lebanon , and finaly left in 2000 .
meanwhile the syrians startes there control on lebanon , tying ties with extreme resistance,
like "ammal and "hizbolah" . an ofcourse executing everyone that suported israel or/and aposed there sataying , like basheer Jumayel , president . kamal Jumbalat leader of the Drouz malitia , and the "new left" .

I believe that "Lebanon" was originally part of Syria (like "Kuwait" was originally part of Iraq).
The French imperialists established "Lebanon" so that the Christians would have a "state" of their own.
And, of course, "Syria" and "Iraq" are artificial constructs as well...territories carved out of the Arab Middle East when Britain and France sliced up the old Ottoman Empire after World War I.
There's really only one Arab nation...but when it will see the light of day is impossible to predict.

PS: Funny how the despised other is always accused of "fucking like rabbits". Is there some kind of envy at work here?

My mom recently befriended two syrian foreign students and they say that the entire populace lives in fear of a war on Syria. The fact that my country causes other innocent countries to live in FEAR of our wrath, like some population of peasants under a TYRANT, is such a shame. I really hope people will come to their senses soon, and see how evil our esteemed government really is.

Leonardo – I laughed my ass off when I read that shit. That’s a good one. :lol
Mexican Dude – Leonardo was being sarcastic when he said that. But there is an air of hate propagating here towards the French as well as the Germans.
The problem with US Americans, as far as I can see, is the insatiable desire to have a group of people to hate. At the moment it seems to be the Muslims. And of course this is easy to get consensus on here, since Muslims are in the clear minority in this country.
The fact is that the media here has been HIGHLY edited and censored since this whole shit started. Even to the degree of deliberate attacks on the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad, as well as the attack on the Al-Jazeera offices. Even some US correspondents were said to have been highly pissed off by these attacks.
This attack on Iraq has absolutely NOTHING to do with freedom or democracy, but rather has EVERYTHING to do with the almighty buck and the specific monetary profit of the controlling forces here in the US as well as Globally. YES Globally. In case you all didn’t realize this fact – there is a specific elite group of people who are holding the most money in multibillion-dollar corporations. These are the people who stand to gain from the Imperialistic measures being beset Iraq as well as other nations that have desired resources (be they natural resources or slave labor work forces).
The ultimate goal is to have total control Globally over the masses, and to have the masses not only working for nut also beholden to the multibillion-dollar corporate interests.
This is the ultimate quest. See it for what it is – please.
And by the way, even though I am born and raised in the United States (Chicago to be exact) – I do know the capital of Iraq (Baghdad), and contrary to popular belief, I can in fact find Iraq, Iran, Syria, Bolivia, and Costa Rica on a map, although I know it is true that most of my countrymen cannot find all (if any) of these places on the map – not even those in this hemisphere. :o
As I said before, and will take this opportunity to reiterate: Although I was born and raised in this country, in the city of Chicago – the policies of the United Stays make me sick to my stomach and I hate al that the United States stands for. This is how I feel.
Please stop generalizing in absolute terms when referring to the ignorant and also stupid US Americans, as although I am technically US American by birth and origin - I am not among them, nor do I claim them.

Wait just a minute here. I don’t know all that many Muslins, but I do know a few…….and I also know a whole lot of Christians. Of those that I so know - let me break it down for you all just a little bit please:
The Christian Catholic Fitzpatrick Family – 7 children
The Christian Catholic Long Family – 7 children
The Christian Catholic Chiarmonte Family – 9 children
The Christian Catholic Valante Family – 5 children
The Christian Lutheran Hanson Family – 6 children
The Christian Baptist Harris Family – 3 children
The Muslim Moquit Family – 1 child
The Muslim Hussein Family – 2 children
The Muslim Kassam Family 3 children
I will admit that this has only been based on my Chicago experience regarding these two specific groups (and I have only given a limited accounting of this observation, however this accounting is representative of what I have seem in general in this regard)
So I ask you this – Of these two groups - Who is reproducing beyond their numbers more in this scenario?
Shut the Fuck Up Sinistra – you are in fact a fool.

eyes you have , and yet you don't see .
muslims have the fastest increasing population . in 1900 there were 300 milion muslims , 100 hundred years , today . we have 1.3 BILION muslems .
to that guy wuth the family thing , the bin laden family , 53 kids .
and to those who said that syria is an artificial state , he doesnt know what the fuck he is saying , the "large syria" ( that includes syria lebanon and northern israel) was formed in the early days of the muslem empire .
from there started the dream of "the big syria" .
the lebanese region was formed in 1860 , when the drouz (who were the leaders of that region , tough the maronites were the grate majority) slaughtered the maronites after an uprising . the french (who were alias with the maronites , and even felt responsable for the midle eastern catholics) sent troops to lebanon , and made the othamen empire to for a new state , mount lebanon , that was ruled by maronites and under the direct leadership of the Sultan in istanbul . and this was the base of the labanese country of today .
So lebanon was actuly a part of syria , and until today the syrian goverment things so .
next time when you want to say your blinded theories , open a history book ...

People did think that Lebanon was part of the Great Syria. But now Lebanon is different from Syria in so many ways, the culture the dialect the infrastruture etc.
Unfortunately, the syrian are fucking jealous of the lebanese people that they can't do anything else but install a puppet regime in lebanon and thus suck its economy and society dry. I hate the Syrian government as much as I hate Zionist Sharon and Nazi Bush. Let them all rott in Hell, and leave the world alone. FOR GOOD.

Blasphemy is right. This happens in all the third world countries, it doesn't justify saying 'they fuck like rabbits'. I know middle class muslim families who have one or two kids at most. Stop generalising Sinistra.
You see the same phenomenon in poor parts of Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

So, Sinistra, 300 million in 1900 & 1.3 billion in 2003 (if your facts are to be believed). Does exponential growth mean anything to you?
And would you like to compare this growth with other religions, for the sake of analysis?
By the way, the "explosion" of the Muslim population isn't solely due to "inbreeding" or the lack of birth control practices in Third World countries...given the space and time of a hundred years, what are the percentages of people converting to Islam? Would you know?
