do you think it could be possible? i never did before, but now i think one day it could happen the canadians are being treated bad when they go down to the US and they passed a bill that American troops can come up here if they deem it necessary... i have also heard alot trash talk from people at my church that 'oh yeah if the americans come here i'll be waving the stars and stripes i hope they do blah blah blah' if the US did invade they would be the first people i would shoot... any of you think it's possible they could try to annexx canada in our lifetimes?

Well a bunch of Canadian and British troops sailed up the river that Washington is on and light a little fire. It ended up burning the white house, and most of Washington. After the rebuilding the white house (which at the time wasnt white) was scarred with burns, so they white washed it to cover it up and renamed it the White House from the Presidential Mansion. The song by Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie "The War of 1812" attempts to explain it aswell.

Canada has A LOT of drinkable water (especially in Québec), a great deal of oil and a lot of forests (wood).

The US are bound to come take it all, be it by free-trade treaties or by annexion of the country.

When is it gonna happen for real? No idea...

corporate takeover of canada by america is the goal of the right wing canadian political parties. these parties are the "Progressive conservatives" and "Canadian Alliance"

typically they are popular with the old farts and paranoid middle class who believe their lies about crime and socialists. once in power, these fascists begin the process of privatizing all of the countries crown corporations. just recently, in ontario, all of he provinces power plants, except a couple, were sold to american investors. these used to belong to the citizens of the province, now, to a dozen or so billionare american capitalist pigs. the plans to privatize health care, transportation, education and all remaining utilities are next.

personally, I would prefer an outright conquest than this chickenshit sale of public property. at least that way I'd have the dishonour of being an american scumbag and not a sold out canadian douchebag.

unfortunately, once a public owned industry is sold, it cannot be bought back. the power companies are gone, forever. everytime a right wing party in canada is elected into power, another piece of canada is sold to america. this process has been ongoing for some time and the only thing that can be done to stop it is to vote left wing, everytime. the problem with this is that the right wing facists play their politics well and always seem to stir up fear and paranoia whenever there is an election. as socialist as canada is by default, they cannot win every single election.

on a brighter note, when the NDP, the furthest party left on the canadian political spectrum, ran ontario about a decade ago, they started up a new crown corporation. specifically, they erected a series of casinos on the canadian us border. each of them makes about a million profit a day from us gamblers. suck on that u lousy fascists!

The NDP is rising in popularity federally and in Ontario again. Could signal a shift to the left, although the NDP is an oppurtunist party. Not as much as the Liberals (in Ontario) but they are still oppurtunist. I have read all three parties platform, and the PC's say 'its not my fault waaa im a baby' the NDP say 'we will do this and have a balanced budget again! for the unions! for the workers! for business...err i mean...' and the liberals are the worst cutting straight down the middle stealing the 'good' from both sides.

The thing about the US, is that the governemnt wouldn't have to invade with their military. They just send over movies, and McDonalds, and all the other cnsumerist, capitaist bullshit. Enough Canadians buy, it, sending more and more money into the hands of the capitalists and corporations. Thats whats happening all around the world. Most of the imperialist takeovers will be "unseen". They will happen on street corners, where the likes of Wal-Mart (ugggh! I hate that word) and other corps. will move in and take the business away from the indiginent peoples of those countries. They'll be selling them back the same crap they have them making in the fucking seatshops!
