I never really understood the Basque region in Spain other than they have their own culture, linguistics, politics, etc....Dont they have a right to declare independence from Spain? The group ETA has been terrorising Spain for more than 20 years and for many people they could be labeled as terrorists or freedom fighters. But do people agree they should be independent? Any responses will be appreciated in advance.

Much the same could be said about the IRA, both are nationalistic "terrorist" groups seeking autonmy.
Basiclalt you can break it down to the end justifies the means.
Both groups used "terrorist" means (car bombings, kidnap, and i belive the IRA was involved in a bank robberny in North Irland a year or 2 ago) for freedom and autonomy from an larger entity. Do we as a group support these groups or do we see this as pointless border drawing?

The ETA is finished. They've called a permanant cease-fire, from what I've heard.
