I need clarification on Confédération Générale du Travail (CGT):
-- Is it true that they are a "stalinist controled union"?
-- What was their role in the Anti-CPE protests?
-- Some basic info would be usefull too.
Thanks :hammer:

- They used to be, back in '68. But they distanced themselves from the french communist party after the fall of the soviet union
- They helped mobilise the working class to aid the students, but at the same time tried to slow down true radicalisation

Im actually reading a chapter on them right now.
Its from a very good book called Facing the "Enemy:A history of Anarchist Organization from Proudhon to May 1968" by Alexandre Skirda
Aparently at the trun of the century the CGT was formed as a merger of the Anarchist dominated Bourses du Travail and a few small unions.
It became dominated by Stalinists with unfortunate results in 68.
Other than that i dont know too much.
