View Full Version : Time for an extremely angry rant on Italy's

What's utterly fucking pathetic here is the absurdly high number of Italians who support fascists, neo-fascists, the allegedly non-fascist far-right (Now that's a laugh...), and those like Berlusconi who are willing to work with them in government. Some of these people are far worse than even Jorge Haider, and yet Italy faces no ostracisation for electing them and even welcoming them into the governing coalition.

Alleanza NAZIonale is "post-fascist" far-right. Its supporters consist entirely of the same sort of violent hooligans affiliated with the party who recently attacked Communist transvetite candidate Vladimir Luxuria in Rome. They won over 12% of the vote.

Lega Nord is a chauvinistic autonomous movement in Northern Italy espousing xenophobia and far-right policies. Many consider them more extreme than AN. They won over 4% of the vote.

Alternativa Sociale Mussolini is so disgusting that it doesn't even deserve explanation. Just looking at the word Mussolini in its name makes you want to do things to it suspporters that would be inappropriate to post on a message forum. People stupid enough to vote for a hypocritical neo-Nazi prima donna whose main "contributions" to this world include bad pornography and bad pro-fascist films don't even deserve access to a ballot. That Nazi fuck Alessandra Mussolini should be sliced to pieces on the streets of Rome like her worthless asshole of a grandfather was.

Fiamma Tricolore is the most explicity far-right of the lot and has won 226,192 votes too many.

These two parties won over 1% of the vote between them.

"Berlusconi is the founder and principal shareholder of Fininvest, the second largest Italian corporation (after Fiat), which deals in media and financial business and, most notably, comprises three national TV channels. Together these account for nearly half the Italian TV market."

When you have media control like that, it's no doubt you can push public opinion toward your end of the political spectrum.

Interstingly, the non-Berlusconi owned media (just about every newspaper) has compensated by heavily backing Prodi.

Last I heard, the race was too close to call, Prodi and Berlusconi were neck and neck
Neither one of them is a good choice, but at least Prodi (from what I heard) has promised to remove all Italian troops from Iraq
In addition, his election would remove a neofascist who slanders communism, from power

BTW: Comrade Cheung, I realize that you extremely loathe Alessandra Mussolini (I share your sentiment), but some of our members condemn sexist words or comments, so I suggest u avoid using "*****"....sexism is very antisocial ;)

Last time I heard, Prodi was claiming victory in the election. Not that Prodi is much better, but I really hate Berlusconi and I want that arrogant fuckwit out. He's worthless, doesn't care about the poor, filthy rich and just an idiot. Besides, Berlusconi was a supporter of Bush, so hopefully Prodi will turn Italy the other way.

Italy also has and has historically always had the strongest Communist and hard-left parties in the West. Fascism is a reaction to a powerful hard-left, it was in Italy before WWII, it was in Germany, it was in Spain.

And uh, the Left coalition won, Berlusconi is out.

Holy fuck!

11% of Italians in Iraq voted for Flamma Tricolore.

I hope these assholes get blown to bits by the Iraqi resistence.

Anyone have any links to a breakdown of the votes? Not who won but what each party received.
PS Italians in Iraq are mostly soldiers, which may explain their position. Unlike many places where right wing sentiment is stronger in the army but a more moderate position still thrives, In Italy there is still a direct lineage from facism to today in the police and other areas of the state.

That doesn't stop me from advocating the same approach as Chumbawamba does for dealing with Nazis. (Hint: It involved a lot of corpses.)

As for results:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_general_election,_2006

Always go to Wikipedia for election results...:-)

Apparently, la Casa got fucked over in the Senate...They won the popular vote but l'Unione still holds the majority...While I despise Berlusconi and his allies, I feel that any electoral system that allows for such results is completely fucking unacceptable regardless of who it may benefit...Bad electoral systems are like Russian Roulette....They also gave us Thatcherism (opposed by a majority of Britons), Bush (although Gore's superiority is very dubious), Mike Harris, and a premature end to Quebec's Quiet Revolution.

Romano Prodi has been declared the official victor of the parliamentary elections after a very close race. However, Berlusconi is disputing the results. Prodi gained 158 seats while Berlusconi gained 156. Prodi also rejected Berlusconi's suggestion of forming a grand coalition. I think that this thin majority by Prodi will give him trouble in the future.

You can find a news article concerning this here

Though the Tricolor Flame looks bad the Social Alternative is even worse and they got more votes.

Open founders of nazi Skin Gangs are high ups.

Fuck Italy and Eastern Europe are hard goin(although they probably also have the highest possibility of radical change).

Heres a salut to fellow antifacists wherever you may lie your head.
