1)In a Communist society would we be able to have pets?

2)What if I had 6 children wouldnt I need a larger house then my neighbour who has none?

3)How can children be raised by society and not parents?

4)What if I was having a party,how could I get food for everyone who is coming?

1. Yes. Why would you not be able to have pets? They would probably would count as a possession, and most of them are not means of production, excepting possibly horses and cows (I have never met anyone with a cow as a pet, but what stops you?), but there is a difference between having one cow and getting milk from that (if you wish) and havig a herd and selling off surplus (not to mention the ownership of grazing land, whih would be communal).

2. One of communism's main concepts is "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." If you have 6 children you would obviously need more space, and it would be provided for you by the community, if it is possible.

3. Parents would not be stopped from being involved in the upbringing of children. I assume then you mean how can society raise children as well as parents? Even now, people get friends to look after their children, and it is but a small step to jump from that to the community as a whole. Are community creches that fantastic an idea?

5. No idea. In 1917 the Russians thought they would get either socialism (then communism) or communism straight away. They ended up with state capitalism. That is why we must make sure we are prepared for any revolution before it happens, and so prevent the power-hungry from attaining their goal.

Yes, and you would get a bigger house.

I don't see how parents are neccasary. Members of the community would be more active in raising the youth in their community. Children would most likely live together in a group home, if they wished to. They could also choose to live with their parents if they really wanted to.

You would simply go to the store, and get the food you need.

That all depends on who you ask and who is in charge at the time.

Most of those people don't like Leninism in general. This is not about Entryism. This is anti-authoritarianism.

Why not? I wouldn&#39;t really count pets as property, they&#39;re more animals that are maintained by a person (or people) for their enjoyment. Even if you want to count them as property there will always be some amount of &#39;personal property&#39;- few people would be enthusiastic about the idea of communal underwear.

As has been said &#39;from each according to his abilities, to each according to his need&#39; really covers that one. Of course you&#39;d get a bigger house, and you&#39;d also get more food (to feed everyone) and so on.

Communal centre things, so when a child is young instead of it hanging round its own house with a parent (generally mother) or a babysitter/nanny it&#39;ll be looked after at teh centre thing.

I&#39;m not as enthusiastic about destroying the family as many people here though.

Socialism serves only as a stumbling block to the creation of socialism as it does not destroy capitalism, it just makes it slightly more egalitarian. But that aside, what is established will be a representation of the desires of the masses- thus it probably will not be exactly the same everywhere (as people in different areas will want different things) and so on. Glorious system makers are generally very naive and idealistic.

:blink: Well yeah. Exceptions however would come to exotic animals, theres no need for you to have lions and tigers, etc.

You NEED a larger house than your neighbor, it&#39;s a need based society.
