Although I admire Michael Moore and Noam Chomsky,
these are great tellers of the truth and very brave people, my greatest living hero has to be the war journalist Robert Fisk who has ceasely stood on the side of the oppressed peoples of the earth Afghanistan, Palestine and Iraq in particular.
Today I came across an unofficial website dedicated to him. It is well worth bookmarking.

Hey! What about Pilger?

I've started that book, it's called "In the name of Justice: the Television Reporting of John Pilger", it was written by Anthony Hayward. I thought it was by Pilger himself, but I guess not. Anyway, although I'm just started, it seems quite good, it's seems like it is going to provide a lot of information about what was going on in the countries rather than just telling about how Pilger walked up the road at a certain time.

Not to get sidetracked from Mr. Fisk of course, who is also very impressive (from what I've seen so far). Thaks for the link, Peacce.

Yeah definitely, I guess we in the DEMOCRATIC west need more reporters of their calibre, simply because you learn more about the so-called 3rd world from reading one of their articles than you would from watching CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX and BBC all year long.

I also love the way Fisk (who's in Baghdad at the moment reporting for the Independent) exposed the fact that an american missile was to blame for the Al Shoula market deaths rather than a malfunctioning Iraqi anti-aircraft batteries as suggested by Tony Blair and the US defence spokesman.
