I have to read this book right now so I was wondering what your thoughts were on it? Feel free to comment or discuss Faulkner in general if you wish.

Faulkner was always a yawn to me. Just goes on and on, and that stream of mind writing style drives me nuts.

Here's a few entries on this journal my teacher made us do when I did it:

Day One: Oh God the beginning is so God Damned boring, why do I have to read this crap?

Day Two: Who cares what these idiots think? Why do they think so much? Why, God, why?!

Day Three: I found something more entertaining and shiny to capture my imagination.

[...]

Day Thirteen: If Faulkner were so great, why is he dead? Ergo, why should I have to read the writings of a not-great guy? Thus I refuse to write or read any more of this "book".

I felt like gnawing off my leg every time I picked up the book.

When did you read it? Anways, I'm not surprised that a more science-oriented guy dislikes English.

Was that your actual entry for day thirteen? Why did you read Marx and Engels then?

Either way, I hate this book but I have to read it for my English class. We also had to read Pride & Prejudice and I have to say that I am definitely prejudiced against that book. It was so crappy that I was unable to finish the damn book.
