well i pretty much grew up in america and was brought up to belive communism was basically a dictatorship, wow was i wrong. about a few weeks ago i started reading up on communism and what capitalism has done to the world. Luckily i ran into this site where I can openly learn and dicuss opinions that arent filled with capitalist propaganda. Its awesome to actually have people with different beliefs dicussing them and not viewing you as crazy when you try to explain it to some people.

Hey (soon-to-be) comrade

While it's excellent that you should be dissuaded from Capitalism as a societal system you should always make up your own mind on matters discussed on this board.

Well, if by recent events you mean the TLC (trato de libre commercio) which from my understandings means that the U.S. and Ecuador can import goods from each other without paying any import duites. Now the U.S. is paying making goods imported from the U.S. much more expensive to the people but if they dont have to pay the price will drop and people will bgin to buy American products . Its obvious that the people will buy the better American product so ecuador wont be making any money.

In my opinion, why should America take Ecuadorian's money and make the country poorer than it already is? The biggest profit will be made by American companies.

Welcome.

The biggest profit will be made by American companies.

That usually goes without saying. Companies dont go into something unless it is highly profitable or they get something from it.

Welcome comrade. :che:
If you are new to Marxism, I suggest you read two excellent premiers on communism:
1. The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels (http://marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/index.htm) — this book must be read with a note in mind that at the time Marx and Engels still considered the use of capitalist parliaments as a method to obtain socialism. After the events in 1871 in Paris they realize that socialism can only be achieved via a revolution.

2. The State and Revolution by Vladimir Lenin (http://marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1917/staterev/index.htm) — excellent introduction into the structure of dictatorship of the proletariat.
