The one thing I hate to see is people using race issues to justify an idoitic action!
U.S. congresswoman Cynthia A. McKinney got into a fight with security and blamed the security officer for being a racist, when in all, she did not follow standard security proceedures. Mckenny has been known to be arrogant, but this is a new low for her, since she now apologizes for the whole mess due to the fact that she's on the brink of losing her job. Suffice to say that when the ship is sinking, the rats flee!

Rep. McKinney was detained because she was not wearing a lapel pin that identified her as a member of the House. However, she did show the officer her Congressional ID card. On top of this, McKinney is relatively well known when it comes to members of the House.

Was it racial? Possibly. I tend to think it has more to do with the fact that she has a reputation for being leftwing and anti-Bush. If she did slug that cop, that only improves her standing in my eyes.

I'm with Miles. There's no way there wasnt some sort of issue there. She clearly was a member of the house. Notice this stuff happens to controversial polititians usually. It might not have been race but it might have been another issue.

I hate it when people play the race card especially for little issues! She should not be exempt from security procedures just because she is a congresswoman, and I'm pretty sure the other congressmen and women have to abide by them too.
