I was, am and will stay oppossed to the war in iraq.
However, one thing i am not so sure about is what we should do now the fighting has begun. Before i go on, i want to make it clear i do not go along with "well we are fighting now anyway, so we had better support the troops" i think thats utter crap and its a disgrace to use their deaths to try and gain support, but, what really should we do now? If we are to pull out now, what fate the iraqi people?? and would it again allow saddam to slowly build bigger stronger support for "defeating the evil west"
Also, although i dont believe them, but all along we have been told this is a war of liberation and some iraqis have heard this, what would they now think of us?
And if we do pull our troops out, what next? I do actually believe saddam needs to be leaned on if anything is going to get done, but would he now begin to feel invincible?
All this could have been avoided if this war hadn't, as it shouldn't, have started, but we now have to sort out the mess bush has put us in. So what does everyone suggest we do now, and what would come next?

NO Iraqi, neither a kurd nor an arab believes this crap.

I also think that the most terribe thing that could happen now is that the US retreat once again. It would be a catastrophe for the Iraqi people.

US would loose all credability and would have to walk away in shame because of the way they have played up this war

US-UK should leave Iraq at once, I do not support this massacre and nothing justifies the crimes they are committing.

The U.S., England, and Australia Must Get Out of Iraq NOW!

And yes, indeed, as their entrance was shameful, let their withdrawal be the same!

And let the architects of this shameful war stand before the bar at the International Court of Criminal Justice...as a more blatant example of criminal conspiracy to commit aggression and war crimes against civilians has not been seen for many years.

George Bush, Tony Blair, John Howard...WAR CRIMINALS!

well you all seem pretty sure america should indeed pull out of iraq, which is a view i too lean towards, but that still begs the question of what would come next?
would this not send out as equal negative a message as this war has anyway?
as i said, bush has put us in this mess wether we like it or not, what really is the best way out and how is it best?

When the US/UK pull out which seems more likely every day, in that they have lost in Iraq and are losing badly the hearts and minds thing elsewhere. They do not have to do anything. They just have to wait for the bad press to roll over. Back in Iraq the opposition will have to regroup, the INC might be able to get the CIA to re open Radio Free Iraq which they closed last month.
In a sense every country is democratic people vote with their feet, thats what happened in Romania.
The thing is that respect for national soveriegnty means also to allow the Iraqi's to time their own rebellion against Saddam Hussein. The Coalition has no right to be there. It is a pre-emptive strike.
As to the UN, they might be so weakened by this that inspections could be abandoned saying that the proof is in the pudding, SH did not use them at a time of war.

The US and UK must leave Iraq at once. What will happen next? Iraq will be rebuilt by Iraqis, not by oil producers, while the Bush administration comes up with a new conspiracy against N. Korea.

They should leave the country at once. My fingers are crossed for a new Nuremburg for Bush/Blair/Howard/etc., as soon as possible.
