Patriot Act

I need a couple of sources stating that the Patriot Act is bad. perhaps testimonies from some people that were invaded of their privacy. i am debating this guy tommorow in my argument/debate class. thanks.

One thing you can bring up is that a person who's rights HAVE been invaded might not have the ability to say anything.

The Patriot Act allows a person to be detained almost indefinitely without informing anybody.

This means you could disappear into a black van and the next day nobody would know. It certainly wouldn't show up in any arrest logs or other public venues.

There might be people in a secret prison somewhere right now, and theres no way you would ever hear about it.

Oh, you can also look up Nazi Germany's gestapo and draw a lot of parallels about their powers and alleged motives to the current situation.

You could just read the Patriot Act to him, and that would prove it's bad. And/or use this quote:
