Reports show that the unknown armed group that crosed the Venezuelan border was a unit from the colombian army being helped by american "advisors".50 colombian troups and 20 advisors (reported to be marines).This aggresion was designed to test the response capability of the venezuelan army.They were driven away by Bronco aircarft ,comandos and a few soldiers from the "Cazadores" division.

The US intencions are to create a low intensity conflict betwen Colombia and Venezuela that requires the mediation of the OEA and UN.This would destablelize the region and make US intervention easier on the basis that Venezuela "protects terrorist groups" refering to guerrillas.

all this comes after the Pentagon officials issued a statement saying "After Iraq I'll be Venezuela's turn"

Frankly, the U.S. can't seem to make up their mind as to who's next. They point their fingers at North Korea, Iran, Syria (Israel's definitely pointing them here a lot, lately), Venezuela, there's probably a pinky (no pun intended) still pointed at Cuba... If they weren't so serious about dropping their hardwear everywhere, it'd be almost humourous.
