Fundamentalist religious nuts make for great stories!

Prime example, my 10th grade geometry teacher. She told us on the first day of school that if we "believe in the glory of Jesus Christ and the power of prayer, we will pass her class". I go to a public school, and it seems like that violates at least one separation of church and state law.

After easter weekend, somebody asked her what she did over the weekend and she said that she "celebrated the death of her lord and savior Jesus Christ...I mean....rebirth!"

There are dozens more. I'll try and remember some.

We had a former death row inmate speak at our school, here is what happened with his first court appointed lawyer,

she handed him a bible and said, this is all that you have now, you better make peace with god and ask him for forgiveness

HE WAS INNOCENT! :( Thats the justice system for you.

Wow, let's see...

My grade 5 substitute english teacher woudln't allow the class to draw lower case "t"s because they were too similar to crosses. Eventually he stormed out of the room in disgust and rightous anger because no one took him seriously.

My grade 6 computer/english/math/science teacher used to cut his hand and sprinkle blood on students to "consecrate" them.

I was once punched in the face by a crazed UCer 'cause I told him that I had burned a bible.

And just last year, a guy giving away bibles outside of a metro station station threw a couple at me (and then prayed for fogiveness ) after I told him that I was an atheist.

A bunch of pro-lifers came to the school and handed out pictures of dead babies and bibles at my school a few years ago.

My neighbor got kicked off the school bus for telling the bus driver that christian music made him uncomfortable and that he should turn it off.

My 10th grade geometry teacher left her post because "God told her" to do it. Apparently god hasn't told her to get a new job...

When my little brother was in kindergarten, he had to sit on his left hand when he would write, because it is "satanic" to write with your left hand. His teacher (a very conservative catholic) would give him a lot of shit for being left-handed.

The same happened to my dad when he lived in Spain.
