my disillusionment with russia by emma goldman is one of my favorite books. it details the fascade of the bolshevik regime, the totalitarian nature of lenin, and the basic economic colapse of russia. it shows how when lenin and the bolsheviks took power the russian revolution came to a grinding halt, and the persecution began.
for anyone, esspecially leninists.. stalinists... Trotskyists... please read this book.
How exactly is it that "revolution came to a grinding halt" with Lenin and the Bolsheviks? Unless Goldman preferred the bourgeois revolution and Kerensky's provisional government!
Goes to show which side the anarchists often prefer! Isn't this book available online for free? Or do circle-A-jerkers just prefer to buy dead trees from capitalists? :P
For anyone interested in real polemics on this question, see the ebates between Lenin and Trotsky, with Kautsky and Luxemburg, etc.:
