DistortedMorality
2nd April 2006, 04:03
Rawr. Howdy everyone, I'm DistortedMorality and I'm introducing myself. I hold no ideology, but my beliefs closely resemble that of syndicalists, with many anarchist tendencies. I'm also a follower of Jesus (but not a Christian, that would require the belief that Jesus is divine), him setting a perfect example of God's idea of a perfect word: a left-wing utopia, where we are ruled by none but the one true king, Yahweh. And He is a light ruler.
I'm 15 and live in Massachusetts, U.S.A and go to a White Republican Catholic School (Somebody fucking save me... please). I like punkrawk, my favorite bands are System of a Down, Anti-Flag, and The Ataris. Nice to meet you. Peace.

Welcome comrade. I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind answering them :)
1. You stated that you believed that Jesus was a radical, but not divine. If you do not believe in Jesus divinity, do you believe any god?
2. Have you ever listened to Bloc Party?

I have this passage from the bible in my locker at school that rules out the possibility of anyone being a christian revolutionary. I will post it soon.

Being ruled by 'one true king', however 'light', is called monarchy. That's even more reactionary than capitalism, about as far from anything leftwing you can possibly get.

Also, see the quote of Saulos of Tarsus (aka St.Paul), in my sig. He started christianity, and spread Jesus's views all over the Roman Empire.

The issue of whether Jesus was a revolutionary, a communist etc or not, has been thoroughly discussed in several threads in the Opposing Ideologies, Religion subforum. The place you properly belong in if you think he was. I'll open a portal for you right here, that'll take you there:

Jesus a revolutionary? (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=45634)

Enjoy, and come back when you see our point: Jesus was a reactionary asshole, if he even existed in the first place.

By Yahweh he is refering to God.

Welcome, hopefully you will 'see the light' and be converted to the one true path.

By Yahweh he is refering to God.

I know, but since yahweh seems to be busy elsewhere, his "earthly representants" would have to rule instead (and would eagerly agree to). That is the clergy.

But I was just pointing out how unleftist the whole idea of a allpowerful god is in itself. That he doesn't exist is another issue..

Hopefully everyone hear doesn't scare you off. However, I would strongly encourage you to keep posting here, but I suggest being open to the idea of renouncing your faith in Jesus. Communism is very ant-religious, and, if you are truly interested in expanding your mind, you might seek out the religious forum to learn about the truth.

comrades, i've been bombarded with christian doctrines in my high school here in the phil. and its hard separating christianity, religion or whatever you call it. i respect individual identity and all of us should be free to pick a religion where we can express ourselves. my point about jesus and christianity and communism is this, people are making the whole concept of christianity too complex that the basic essence of christianity and other religion which is love seem to be forgoten, remember how jesus opposed the concept of the so called high priest of his time and how he tried to simplify everything in love? there is a diff. bet tradition/custom and the basic essence of christianity and other religion.

indeed, the message of Jesus (if he existed), could possibly have been interpereted in a revolutionary manner. That is, if any of the bible that remains to us were vaguely related to him. The bible has been edited to the point of total meaninglessness, and so the point is moot, since there is no telling what jesus' position on almost anything was. Thats alongside the fact that most of the words accredited to him are talking in riddles and open-to-interpretation parables...

Perhaps if he had written anything himself, we could reach a judgement. Until then, i advise basing your commendably anti-capitalist spirit on the solid and coherent works of the many great revolutionary thinkers of our time.

(oh, and hi everybody, by the way)

Hey Hippy and Distorted, nice to see some other theists on here!
I am actually a Christian, but yes, the Bible probably was edited (see 1 Cor 14.34-35, it's in parentheses).
But notice that Hippy and Distorted aren't flamed for their opinions like I am. Does anyone know why? Just want to know why...

God doesn't exist, Jesus was a con artist. Marxism is not compatible with religion, communists aren't religious. If you want further explanation just ask :)

Fear not, you have religious comrades here. I also go to a White Republican School, only it is Calvinist, not Catholic. Now, whether or not you believe in Christianity, you must admit that if you did, the Calvinist doctrine of predestination is the biggest lob of bullsh*t out there. Thankfully, there are a few other leftist I know of in school, but I am the most communist.
