Is it betraying my own country to be this un-patriotic? I just can't help it though. This system has got to go. We amerikans are nosy imperialists if you ask me. We are also self destructive, especially under dubya.

betray your country, by all means do! Countries are nothing more than man-made divisions to seperate people, they have no purpose but oppression

If flags were cheaper than cigerets, id burn a union jack each morning.
I think being patriotic is like being racist. thats what i tell my friends, and they all denounce patriotism too!

The arrogance among patriots is simply amazing. I am simply astounded by that quote. If everyone had the attitude of "it doesnt matter if what you do is wrong" we would all be dead by now.

Patriotism as we know it really has to go. Like NKOS said, countries, or nation states are mere tools of oppression. Some argue that patriotism, or nationalism, is "ok" for the peoples of small, oppressed countries.
While I see where they are coming from, I can't agree. Why would those need the "help" of a childish, reactionary ideology to liberate themselves? Communism is enough!
Patriotism creates an "us and them" mentality, and is counterproductive for the internationalist effort of communists.
The only form of patriotism that in my opinion is justified, is one felt towards the human race.

I just love the way flags burn. It gives a sence of freedom. Freedom that you just have shown your despite to the system that is ruling.

Patriotism and consequently nationalism doesn't really serve the Capital anymore in the ''old'' capitalist countries. The Capitalists are doing the job for us.

I think you're right. Look at the whole idea with the European Union. I bet there is a document in Brussels that describes the procedures into a superstate. Anyway, the EU is destroying nationalism and patriotism. Globalization is destroying nationalism and patriotism.
It is quite ironic our battle. We want, in the end, a global network of societies living equally in peace. They want a planet where people own everything. Neither one of us wants countries...
(Or I'm plain wrong...)

Despite it's negative immediate effects on working class living conditions globally, globalisation is serving our interests. I see it as the final stage of capitalisms final stage of development.
Simply put, the global imperialism will evolve to a global communism, through a revolution in it's core, the most advanced nations. This revolution will spread rapidly in the modern world with its fast communications. :)
Patriotism and nationalism are hindering this process and must be fought.

The country was never ours it has always belonged to the wealthy property owners. No reason to feel guilty about not worshiping a peice of dirt and the corrupt government that runs it. You are a member of the human race which is more important than any fucking nation.
