MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- A high-ranking Russian official has dismissed allegations by the United States that Russia is involved in illegal shipments of military equipment to Iraq as "completely baseless."

Rather interesting article regarding the whole US/Russian relations - and how the war on Iraq is adversly affecting them. I found this quote from the foriegn ministry to be quite humorous (and true).

"If you ask me why this news appeared lately, my only response would be that it's just to distract public attention from an illegitimate military operation by the United States government against Iraq and to distract attention from the fact that this war turned out not to be a picnic."

This further proves that the US is an ilegal country doing things by their way taking no regard for the life of other people or foreign culture.

Obviusly the US is trying to be the good guy with the accusation of the arm sale but the Russian authority striked him in the ass.

They are not going to gain anything by lien to the people, this is only inceasing the hate toward america

Does this mean we will have to order a Black Freedom (Black Russian) when going to a bar?

but seriously, will the U.S. try to make Russia into another terrorist nation? I wouldn't put it against G. W.

Tensions rise between the US and Russia. A U2 spy plane in Russian air space was escorted out with several Russian jets. U2 spy planes?! Cold War over again. :P

But yeah.

Here in America the fact that the US gave Saddam most of his arsenal is untouched and many times denied.

Putin Rejects U.S. Claims of Military Sales to Iraq
By SABRINA TAVERNISE

OSCOW, March 25 — President Vladimir V. Putin responded today to American accusations that Russian companies are selling advanced military equipment to Iraq, calling the claim "unsubstantiated."

In a statement, the Kremlin gave its own version of a telephone conversation between Mr. Putin and President Bush on Monday, in which Mr. Bush pressed Mr. Putin to stop the equipment sales, according to the White House.

It was Mr. Putin who first brought up the American concerns, according to his press secretary, Alexei Gromov. Mr. Putin dismissed the accusations and said they were "capable of inflicting damage on relations between the two countries," Mr. Gromov said.
