he was a brilliant man...
so many people here would benefit from reading his 'manifestos' attacking rationalism, logic, moralism, intellectualism as pillars of bourgeois banality alienation and boredom...

Nutter? Yes. Great man? Yes also.
It should be noted, however, that in later life it more or less renounced his Dada heritage and became a member of the Communist Party of France, fighting in the resistance during WWII.
