What is your opinion on Mumia abu Jamal?
Are there any good sites with info on him, why he is on death row, held captive, etc?

He is a political prisoner, a hero and in my eyes the model of a leader, journalist, revolutionary and man. I just bough "All Things Censored Vol. 1", a grab bag of mid 90's commentaries from him and others. It kicks ass.

Innocent of the crime, but if he isn't he shouldnt be punished :) Whether or not he committed the crime, he recieved an unfair trial in an unfair system so all charges against him should be dropped.

Mumia is probably innocent, but even if he isn't the cop got what he deserved.

Mumia is a great and wise man
And therez no doubt that he was in one way or another wrongly convicted for a crime, whether he did it or not, that in no way compares to cruelty done by police depts around the US
I support the man and his message

Mumia is innocent..
Michael Moore claims that he "probably isn't."
Of course, Michael Moore is a hypocritical douche.

There was a demonstration for Mumia last year here in Phily. I was late for it, but i heard there were almost ahundred people. There are still alot of people constantly fighting for his freedom but it seems to have quieted down lately. I think a big quarrel against the Free Mumia movement is that it is concentrated on an individual person instead of looking at the underlying factors that have created such a racist system. Obviously he should taken off of death row and released from prison but in protesting this, larger issues must also be raised.
