Natalie Portman grew up in Israel, them moved to the US with her family when she was very young. While she is religious, I have recently heard that she did quite a bit of research on powerful left-wing/ social movements of the last 600 years for Vendetta. I understand she is fairly politically left of center too.

Cool - too bad she's such a terrible actress :P
Actually, that's not fair - she may have made a pig's ear of her part in the three Star Wars films, but that was the script rather than her acting - Damn you George Lucas, damn you to Hades!!!

I think it's pretty cool that actors take an interest in politics at all...and if she's interested in leftist politics that's even cooler...

She went to Harvard... so I'm pretty sure she wasn't instilled with very revolutionary values there.
She did mention that she lived in Israel last night on Letterman, but pointed out that she didn't stay in Kibbutz. Then she said something relating kibbutzes to socialism.
Her digital short skit on SNL was brliant, by the way

Ahh, misconception.
Just because Harvard's elite educationally, doesn't mean it's not radical politically.
Harvard students/faculty are known for their 'leftism'.

Seems to be a bit of fuss being made over this movie and how "radical" it's supposed to be.
A review from the San Francisco Chronicle...

There are lefties in New York City planning to leaflet showings of the film and even "act out" portions of the book that were dropped from the screenplay as "too radical". The book's author has already separated himself from the movie.
A few general musings...

That's Andy Samberg, member of the newly-hired by SNL Lonely Island (http://www.thelonelyisland.com) comedy trio.

Who gives a shit. Anarchists have no interest in movie stars spreading their ideas on what they think anarchism is.

Now, is this movie really better than the book? I read somewhere on infoshop's news service a first impression of the film when it was scheduled to come out in November and it said taht the film completely cut out V's concept of anarchism.

The book is much better than the movie, although the movie is not bad. I would have imagined that they cut out most of V's anarchist monologues that were in the book.
