This is what someone thinks. Thanks to capitalism, cut-throat competition, greed and alongwith all the other vices that come with it.

Brutal Bosses are best for biz! (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1449613.cms)

Ruthless bosses who scream at their staff, trample on their feelings and set impossible standards have the greatest chance of being successful. "The Great Intimidators" are the best bosses in business, says a leading American business professor in a highly controversial article.

His findings fly in the face of the accepted wisdom that a boss who is sensitive to his staff gets the best results from them. Not so, according to Roderick Kramer from the respected Stanford Graduate School of Business in California.

The real winners are the bosses with "porcupine power" who are rough, loud and in your face".

The professor says their approach to business can be summed up as: "Time is short, the stakes are high and the measures required are draconian." His findings into the S-factor . the scare factor . involved extensive research into what made some of America"s top executives and politicians so successful. He says that there are few things that they will not do to be the best, although few would win a place at charm school.

One of the top tactics is to be angry and let everybody know that that is how you are feeling, he says in his article, "The Great Intimidators", published in the "Harvard Business Review".

"A bad temper is a very powerful political tool because most people don't like confrontation," he says.

"People will think twice before confronting you if you"ve got a reputation for being willing to scorch a little earth." Great Intimidators are good at screaming at staff, taunting them, swearing at them and even becoming physically threatening.

This approach persecutes staff who “end up spending a lot of time huddled around the cooler trying to figure out whether they are in or out". After this, they "go and sit in their offices and dream up ways of pleasing the boss".
