The War: Is There winners or just losers?

The war is well underway with the US claiming that they are under control and on their way to victory.....Not according to many military analysts, the war is going to be long and bloody. four days into conflict already casualties on both sides. The war to give "Iraq back to the Iraqis" Yet public opinion in Iraq is one of rejection of "The Coalition".....This war will have no winners! just another U.S ruined country.

What outcomes can you see in the future?

This war will have a long line of effects, and is a continuation of the event of the First World War. I can explain that, just ask and I'll make a thread in history about it, but nothing happens in a vacuum.

Since America has been avoiding strongholds of regular Iraqi troops, when they hit Baghdad with will be in for a blood bath against the Republican Gaurds. The Egyptian Protesters call for the Iraqi's to take the fight to the cities to make a New Vietnam of sorts. If Turkey keeps coming in from the North, then the Kurds will be fighting against atleast 2 hostile armies. As well, their is a prediction that Iran will intervene, if that happens the Americans will truly have a nother Vietnam like war. Public support will plummet, and the Republicans may become a shattered party.

the coalition will win this one but my fear is how will it win. if resistance is brought up into the citie the lie of the land and the people resist more than the americans desire then will we have a dresdon styled situation on our hands where the cities will be just carpet bombed

I personally do not expect any nation to greatly benefit from this present war; however, I think it is very short-sighted to claim that there are never winners in war. In World War Two the US was a winner - they came out politically and economically more powerful than ever before.
