Hey Everyone,
Heres 2 questions im concerned with:

1 - Communism is abolishing all private property. Does that include Personal private property? Such as your backyard, video games, cars, etc.

2 - What reason is Private Property being abolished?

Thanks

Communism calls for the abolishment of ALL private property.

This would not mean someone could just snatch an Ice-Cream out of your hand and say "up yours".

Property will become possession.

"you would have the right to have it - but not own it"

2 - What reason is Private Property being abolished?

Private property is what gives power. A person with no property has no power.

Property being land, intellectual or "credit".

What is Bill Gates if he had no money, no idea's and no microsoft?

Powerless!

What is a society with no property?

Classless!

Personal possesions, no. Exceptions would be the former bourgeois who's million dollar jewlery would be repossesed and used in international relations with countries that still use money.

Cars? Yes in some cases. If you have 3 or 4 cars and you only need one, they will be repossesed and distributed to those who NEED one until production can supply everyone with a car.

If your backyard is substantial, again if you are bourgeois-petty bourgeois, you probably have susbstantial land, it would be divided up. The mansions would be given to for multi-family home use or very large families.

I think nate's post can really be summed up by Marx: From each according to his ability to each according to his need.

STN, property is not a thing. Property is a way of treating other people. Property is the relation of violence between people regarding things, places, ideas, and other persons. Property is an anti-social disruption of normal socialization.

There is no way to keep the idea of property if we are to end the reality of violence.

Follow the logic of your statement to its conclusions:

Private property bad, private violence bad.
Public property good, public violence good.
Personal property good, personal violence good.
