what if the ussr didn't fall ,what if gorbachev didn't tear the ussr apart!
what will be the decision of the ussr against the war in iraq !what do u think !what if the economy of the ussr didn't fall, does america tries to invade iraq and the middle east or it would be some kind of equilibruim?

The fall of the Soviet Union was not all Gorbachev's fault.
I would suppose that the USSR would oppose the war on Iraq.

no it was because of him and his glasnot economic politics ,and because he went far to the western side, for exemple we are sure if lenin or trotsky or even khruchev was alive ,the ussr wouldn't fall!

it started to fall apart when Lenin got shot and layed the groundworks for the 'Red Terror' and later the outright police state.
but yeah, the Soviets would have most likely opposed the war. but what difference would it have made? Russia has the Soviet nukes and they opposed it, but nothing happened.
