For most of the US it's still 5.15 I believe, though higher in some other areas. I think it's up to 5.50 in New York City.

In the Dominican Republic it's 3000 pesos a month (roughly $90 US).

In the USA it ranges from $5.15 to $7.50 depending on the state.

Also the wiki article on minimum wage has a nice little graphic.

Isn't there a server's minimum wage in the US for people like waiters and that which is quite low because they receive tips?

There is no mimumim wage in Germany, but there are binding nation wide wage treaties for most industries. Still a minimum wage is in discussion, because the wage treaties are getting more and more bypassed. Wages are currently starting at about €4 ($4.80) an hour for certain sectors. The Linkspartei/PDS (Left Party/PDS, biggest German leftist party, unification of the reform-communists of the PDS, the former DDR state party, and a leftist spin-off of the social democrats) is advocating to establish laws for a minimum wage.

May as well throw this in ;) The minimum wage in the Isle of Man for those over 18 is £5.25, although this is proposed to go up to over £7 per hour within the next year or so. I can post wages for 16 and 17 year olds, but that doesn't seem to be the trend. Also I would have to route them out, since I don't know them offhand since the last increase.

Minimum Wage, 1931 - sought raise the base standard of living to at least co-exist with the poverty line

Minimum Wage, 2006 - a magnet for corporations to compete amongst each other to pay the lowest possible wages for the greatest number.

The Minimum Wage is a bigger hinderance in many ways than anything else these days.

Yes it is most likely a "right to work" state like Arizona . You have a right to work for as little as possible in hopes of gaining a crust of bread.

Also not mentioned here is the wage for service workers, which outside of states such as Oregon hovers between 2.15-2.65 based on the presumption that the customers will pay the persons salary in the form of tips.

This practice should be illegal.
