Cuba's highest leadership body is the Council of State, of which Fidel Castro is the elected President. He was last elected on February 24th, 1998 (all 601 deputies of the National Assembly, by secret ballot vote, chose him to be the President).

Surely someone must have voted against Fidel Castro? Is there anyone else to choose from?

Is this statement by the Cuba Trush Project true or has the government or the project itself rigged/lied about something?

Sounds quite odd...but then again all forms of opposition are seen as bourgeoise US supported gusano groups which I very much doubt to be true, I mean sure there are opposition groups who are against the Cuban Revolution and want to turn Cuba back into a banana republic, but I doubt every opposition group is like that, some just seek newer and fresh leadership and still want to preserve the Cuban Revolution...I dont think Castro would be the only possible interpretation for Cuban "socialism"

The statement is of course true.

Obviously none of you understand how democratic centralism works.

Anyway, if you want to know how the Cuban government works, read: Let's talk about Cuban Democracy (http://www.freepeoplesmovement.org/ry/rys5b.html), The truth about Cuba (http://www.freepeoplesmovement.org/ry/rys5a.html), and the book "Cuba: Dictatorship or Democracy" by Marta Hernecker.
