First this article just made me laugh. The fact that the US Government is actuallywasting more money on needless projects like these instead of using the money in areas such as healthcare of education is pathetic...what next..neon glow in the dark pigs?oh wait they already exist....
Rereading the article i realized actually how unerving the technology in this program really is..future human use maybe?

You know, if you hadn't provided this link I'd have accused you of making the whole thing up. But it was in New Scientist and ont he BBC website, sO I guess I'll have to believe it, even if this is pushing incredulous to new heights. I mean really, what the hell?

In a similar vein, is it true that the US spent billions developing both lasers to blind Soviet pilots and a pen that writes in space, when the Russians just made reflective visors for their pilots and, even more advanced, usde a pencil in space. I hope these are true, because they are my favourite "idiot US government" jokes :D
