ummm not me, i dont do drugs and i dont have much sex (thats not my choice tho :P ) but some of my freinds are straight edge, thow they are more of greenies than commies so you wont see em hear <_<

not that i have anything agaisnt greenies, i support them all the way, i just think they should turn ther attention to the problem at hand rather than trying to save the natural enviroment under capitalism, becuase under capitalism saving the natural enviroment is near impossible.

I&#39;m contemplating on turning SxE, I found out about it through listening to hardcore and it seems quiet an intresting philosophy.

No alchol
No drugs
No casual sex

To be honest SxE really does appeal to me after a bad experience I had with alchol and casual sex.

i smoke like fifteen-thousand cigarrettes a day and im damn proud of it and often want to beat to death anyone who tells me not to smoke,
though when im drunk i usually just act like a little girl about it

straight edge is an incredoubly annoying thing, i mean its cool that people can do such things and i respect them for it, but when they talk non-stop about it and say your life is shit, its a little unfair, im yet to meet anyone whos not been like this, so i guess im biased

i don&#39;t smoke because i simply don&#39;t feel any need for it what so ever... drugs and alcohol influence the human brain and i find in quite funny ways. if its only on your weekends i don&#39;t really have a problem with it if you have a clear view for the oppressive reality. I don&#39;t think its good or bad to take drugs, only at the point were you use it as a messure to make a bad life feel better. i think you should rather try to change the world around you than ignore reality till you have to wake up some day.

I was at a party last weekend and some guy I knew thought I was straight edge, needless to say I was offended and proved him wrong by drinking a large bottle of vodka then having a smoke.
I very rarely drink that much and smoke even less.
As I see it straight edge is just puritanism without the religion.

i smoke more like 15-30 a day, when i have to be indoors
but when i go out it goes up and at download festival last year i smoked between 50-80 a day, i have a problem with chain-smoking

I hate those types of Straight Edge kids, too&#33; Hardliners suck.

I&#39;m straight edge, but I&#39;m probably the most laidback straight edge kid ever. I hang out with all the druggies and I light people&#39;s cigarettes for them, I drive my drunk friends home and make sure they don&#39;t barf anywhere, especially on themselves or me. I don&#39;t like it when other sxe kids tell me I&#39;m not sxe because I hang out with druggies. I don&#39;t like it when they call me a hypocrite. I protest drugs and alcohol by not doing them. If other people want to then that&#39;s their choice entirely and I&#39;m around to make sure my friends are safe because I care about them but I don&#39;t consider myself better than them or any other person who drinks and does drugs and sleeps around.

I&#39;m celebate by nature. No sex drive. :blink:

I was for quite some time years ago. I had been drugfree for quite some time before that, but after seeing some obnoxious youth try to pressure some kids at a boys and girls club into drinking, a friend and I decided to start a straight edge band and create a healthy community that those kids could feel empowered by. It was great for a year or two, seeing kids with Xs on their hands and comfortable with their choices.

I&#39;m writing this while sipping on some pinot noir though. I don&#39;t really have a reason to identify with any sort of anti-drug counter culture. It simply isn&#39;t applicable to my life anymore, short of superficial youth lifestylism, though I certainly respect those still involved with creating healthy alternatives to youth drug cultures.

i still love listening to earth crisis.
