Chen has been working on this little scheme for a while now, despite overwhelming opposition from practically everywhere.

Actually, I somewhat support the independence of Taiwan. China isn't a "socialist" republic anymore. It has a strong and oppressive government that only cares about business while it's workers die in misery around polluted waters and air.

If Taiwan becomes independent, it firstly becomes an independent capitalist nation, and second, the true struggle for socialism can begin there. How else can this be possible if the government in Beijing even forbids unions?

Their independence will also push other countries, such as Israel and Russia, who both have control over occupied land (Palestine respectively Chechneya).

(On the other hand, Taiwan has the US on it's side...)

Sort of goood.

But it sucks that the the Taiwanese people are stuck between pro-Beijing fascists and pro-Washingtion liberal-conservatives. I lean towards the latter because they're the descendants of the liberal, democratic, and humanist anti-KMT movement rooted in the response of middle-class Hoklo intellectuals and activists to the White Terror and other forms of fascist Waishengren repression (backed by Washington and later Beijing) of both Han and non-Han Taiwanese...And I despise both the reconquistador KMT and the new unification KMT.

I support the right to Taiwanese self-determination, with the result determined via a referendum in which Washington and Beijing shall have no right to influence the result and in which the descendants of the fascists who fled with Jiang Jieshi shall not be allowed to vote.

We should all support our brothers and sisters who are struggling to achieve independance from ''tyrannical and exploitative mother-lands''. So I back Taiwan on this issue. Although, a new potential crisis might be at hand, the Chinese are not known to react with talks but through force. Its certainly an issue that we will keep an eye for.
