I'm usually really bad at beginnings. I'm not sure why but I always find it difficult to introduce myself. But anyway, I'm Lola and I'm not sure exactly how to define myself just yet although I would definately say I lean close to Communism. I stumbled across this board while googling Irish rap groups, ironically. I hope this will be an active, but not to active forum for me to participate in.

And, for starters, I'd like to ask a question. I wouldn't definitively say I'm "gothic" but I do like that label in some aspects and apply it to myself in some aspects. I said that in another community but someone told me that a Communist would never call themselves "gothic"... and today I'm not entirely sure why that is... so can anyone, if you have an idea, clear that up for me?

Politically, I'm liberal in social policies, but I'm not all too sure about economic ones. It seems like both sides really aren't substancial enough. I accredit that to capitalism in general not being substancial enough to my tastes.

Edit:

The guy who made the comment about being a label said the following:

if you were truly anything communist you would not title yourself goth, or straightedge. i don't drink, have sex, smoke, or anything but i shall not label myself straightedge because it is an attempt to seem different, or unique. all effects of capitalism "whoever has the most stuff is the best" and whoever sticks out, or rather attempts to, non-conformists conform to each other so it's all vain and pointless. titles are foolish, as are labels. anyone who can be completely described, personality and all, in a generic statement probably has no thoughts anyway, so why listen?

Yeah, I did use generic labels to identify myself, but only because it was a general statement of introduction and it's kind of hard to convey my entire sense of being into a paragraph. Catagorizing is a natural action we as humans do because we process so much data at a time. I use labels as a broad sense of what I'm interested in and my life philosophy, not as the only representation of who I am.

Isn't he himself making the generic statement that anyone who uses labels in themselves are stupid?

But I don't really see how that has anything to do with my political beliefs. But whatever?

 That dude has a couple of screws lose in his head.
Never before have I heard that people who label themselves are trying to be unique.
On the contrary, people who label themselves are trying to fit in!
I don't like to label myself, but hell, everyone is close to a label than another...
I would say I'm a punk/nu-metalhead/commie.. YEH!!

Anyways, welcome comrade :D
