I've recently finished reading Douglas Adam's books, and boy... I admit it had been a while since I last laughed THAT hard!
Almost every freakin' page has one - or more! - intelligent takes on the modern society.
I'm very much fond of parody/satirical humor. Which books or movies would you recommend?

The Hitchhiker's series is indeed excellent! Adams' take on god's last message pretty much hits the nail on the head for me. It's good to see intelligent writers who don't take themselves too damn seriously. :D

There are several wonderful passages on the Hitchhiker's series - the part about the origin of the human race in the end of the second book "explains" a lot about how we got up to this point...
Another thing I re-discovered these days was an old role-playing game, PARANOIA, whose scenario is a parody on the anti-communist paranoia (just as the title says)during the Cold War - imagine a black-humoured crossover between Brave New World and 1984 in a post-apocaliptical era.
