I just recieved this via E-Mail today! Some people I know took over the Federal Building in Albany, NY.
>The anti-war demonstration at the Federal Bldg, led by Women Against War,
>has
>led to an all-night blockade situation.
>
>More than a dozen people were ready to be arrested for sitting in at the
>building after not being allowed in to visit our Senators and Congressman,
>but were locked out and the building closed. Five people did manage to get
>in somehow through a side door and are now locked in.
>
>When I left, they hadn't been arrested and were in limbo between the back
>door and the security machines.
>
>People will be CAMPING OUT ALL NIGHT - a blockade. A request has been made
>for food, water, blankets, sleeping bags. And colleagues, especially for
>the
>morning when the building is supposed to open.
>
>The 100 or so demonstrators turned down a deal by which people from our
>legislators' offices would meet OUTside the building with Erin O'Brien,
>WAW's
>lead organizer, and a max of 4 others, with the rest of the demonstrators
>staying on the other side of the building from where the meeting would be.
>The reason given for not letting people in the building was that they
>didn't
>have an appointment and "we work only by appointments."
>
>So - in the morning, we will find out what the next steps will be.
>
>There will be a press conference this evening at the Federal Bldg - around
>6,
>I think.
>
>Peace,
>Bill
